Thank you. I always wanted to see what this show was about. I was born in 1969, so heard all about "The Gong Show" from the kids at school and in my neighborhood, but my parents said TV would rot my brain, so wouldn't let me watch most of it. They had a little 7" - 12" B&W portable on a cart with wheels, they kept in the hall closet, and rolled out when an "approved" program was OTA broadcast. They wouldn't pay for cable until I was in Junior High School (like 13 or 14 years old, and we moved to a rural community), and we only watched documentaries or dramas that were historically significant or had "redeeming value," in their overly protective standards. What they achieved is turning me into a "TV addict" as an adult.
